Holz-Chinesisches Schach

I was impressed by the smooth finish of the wooden pieces—they fit nicely in the hand and move easily across the board. The set feels sturdy enough for regular use at home, yet the compact box keeps everything organized without taking up table space.

The compact 11x11cm box fits perfectly on my coffee table, and the pieces are solidly carved with a nice weight. I’ve already played a few games with the family—it’s a satisfying, quiet challenge.

The pieces are 2.7cm tall, which feels substantial for a travel set — not too tiny to handle. I was surprised how smooth the wood is, and the box closes snugly with no loose bits. This is exactly the kind of compact game I can toss in a bag for coffee shop sessions.
